As Art Director for the Spring 2024 edition of The Miami Student Magazine, I led the design process from concept to completion, combining creative direction with technical expertise to deliver a visually compelling and cohesive publication.
Leadership & Asset Collaboration
Oversaw the design process, guiding individual designers to refine their visual assets and maintain a consistent visual identity throughout the magazine.
Designed custom graphics and assets for several feature stories, enriching the overall visual narrative with my own creative contributions.
Worked closely with the Editor-in-Chief to ensure that the design reflected the magazine’s editorial voice and seamlessly aligned with its content strategy.
Design & Layout Execution
Placed and arranged all assets into dynamic, polished layouts using InDesign, ensuring each page was both aesthetically engaging and easy to navigate.
Created a unified design aesthetic that enhanced the storytelling, balancing creative visuals with strong editorial focus across all sections of the magazine.
Publication & Digital Accessibility
Managed the production process, preparing the magazine for both print and digital formats with precision and attention to detail.
Published the final edition to Webflow, providing an immersive digital experience, and uploaded it to Issuu for an interactive, flipbook-style viewing that expanded the magazine’s accessibility and audience reach.
This role gave me the opportunity to take full ownership of the publication's design, ensuring it was visually impactful while maintaining editorial integrity. It also strengthened my skills in team leadership, layout design, and digital publication management across multiple platforms.
