IMS 431 - Creative Direction in Entertainment Design
Spring 2024
I had the unique opportunity to work on the production of the music video “G-dzillah G’dolah” by the band WHY? as part of my Creative Direction in Entertainment Design course taught by Ben Nicholson. This hands-on project offered a real-world experience in the entertainment and motion design industry, allowing our class to collaborate on set to bring the band’s vision to life.
My contributions to the video included creating the dynamic fire background and rainbow effect, which are prominently featured throughout the piece, adding a vibrant, otherworldly aesthetic. On shoot day, I also took on multiple production roles, running the media server, assisting with lighting, and helping with live recording. The project provided valuable insight into the fast-paced, collaborative nature of music video production and strengthened my skills in both creative design and technical support.
This experience reinforced my passion for visual storytelling and gave me a taste of the teamwork and versatility required in entertainment design—skills I’m eager to bring into future creative projects.
